A good single player experience can absorb hours of your life, immersing you into the unique worlds within, experiencing every second of their narrative, soaking in the qualities of their characters or just taking your breath away with stunning visuals or set pieces. We all love to just sit down and enjoy a good single player experience every now and then and this is a list of some of the 360s best.
There are countless others mind. Braid, Half-Life 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog all leap to mind. Ok, maybe not Sonic like but you know what I mean. This comparitively meagre number of titles are simply the wonderous cream of a decidedly mixed crop. But which did you like best?
For some the choice here will be simple, an immediate decsion formed the moment your eyes pass over the title you liked most. For others the choice may be more difficult. Did Fable 2's humour and wit outdo Bioshock's atmosphere and superb plot? Did free-running through a 12th century Middle East get you going more than making Stormtroopers do mid-air cartwheels around giant Death Star death beams?

I may have voted for Fable 2, for very good reason. It is the greatest single player on Xbox 360...with one exception in my eyes.
I am a huge Mass Effect fan as those who know me, especially McGowan, no doubt know! Yet seen as it wasn't an option I quite happily went with my second fave, Fable 2.
The depth of Fable 2 in comparison to the first is incredible. The little things that were hinted at in The Lost Chapters release where built upon, perfected and then added to to make them even better! All in all an amazing game that I am quite happy to dedicate time to getting 1000G on!
Huzzah Lionhead, Huzzah!

If you wanted depth I'm surprised you never went for Bioshock or GTA. Frankly (as much as I know I sound like I hate the game, which I really don't) Fable 2 is essentially Fable 1 but with a new world map and story. I love Fable 2 but there has not been any *significant* improvement over the original. Yes, Fable 2 is better, bigger and more fun (which is why I think it's brilliant) but it's really more Fable 1.5 I find. This isn't a bad thing but for me, it was a little bit of a let down. Take GTA 4 however and you find a game with a magnificent single player and damn good multiplayer. GTA 4 is such an improvement on the series gameplay wise as it's more realistic. Although this doesn't sound like much, play Vice City or San Andreas and you will feel the difference. The story is much better too. There are believable characters who you can genuinely grow attatched to and Niko Bellic is the first lead character in a GTA game I actually gave a damn about. CJ, that mute guy and Tommy Vercetti were bland as one had no personality and the others were stereotypes. In the end, although I loved everyone of those games I played, I got the most out of GTA 4. Also, Cundoo, if you're wondering why I left Mass Effect out, I completely forgot it existed until you mentioned it.

The words "Single Player" are a bit of a given as to why Halo 3, the massive multiplayer game, was not included in this scenario.
